European Studies MA
Programme Aims and Goals
Europe is changing rapidly. Over the past 20 years, the map of Europe has seen new borders and new conflicts have arisen, while other partitions have disappeared. Today's focus is not only on furthering both cooperation and dialogue between the European states but also on strengthening and deepening the process of European integration. This integration has not only had a strong influence on both development and coordination at national and international level, but also has affected the individual regions throughout the union and neighbouring countries.
As a response to the merging of local and global perspectives of the world today, it is the ambition of the international Master programme in European Studies at Europa-Universität Flensburg to cultivate a global way of thinking Europe.
The program is a full-time two year degree taught exclusively in English. With its focus on regional development and cooperation as well as external relations of the EU, the programme attracts students from all over the world.
With our degree programme in European Studies, students have the opportunity of following, understanding, and contributing to past, present and future developments in Europe. While the primary focus of this programme is on regional development students also take an in-depth look at topics such as European economics, politics, law and culture. Due to the diversity of our student body with their multifaceted backgrounds as well as the many views on the above mentioned topics, students have the chance to look at the European Idea from many different perspectives.
